10/5/2016: Sherri, a descendant of one of several mysterious drowning victims of Punderson Lake, wrote in with this bit of fascinating historic information. It seems that Punderson Manor has not given up some of its dead.
10/4/2016: Kallie shares her experiences as a student at haunted Muskingham University.
Not sure if you’ve heard about this school before, but many other paranormal sites list it and as a current student I’ve experienced a lot of freaky stuff too. Continue reading
10/13/2015: Kim S. shares an alarming image she captured while taking pictures of her family. Could it be a female spirit with an unexplained connection to the property, as one “medium” has theorized?
On August 27th, 2013, I captured this image by accident in one of the Cedar Point Cabins upon entering. I was taking pics to send to a friend of the cabin layout. I had just entered and asked my family to stand to the side so I could get uncluttered pics.
The television was off as we had just literally walked in – I have had it looked at by a well known Medium and he has validated it and claims it to be a woman with a connection to the property.
The first two will be of the image that I captured (not knowing at the time), a zooming in of the face.
You can see my reflection snapping the pic in the photos (in the television) and then the spirit in there. Please note when reviewing my pics – the remote is clearly still sitting on top of the TV – as I stated, we had just walked in the door.
The next photos are ones I tried to take after seeing it to validate it and show the TV was off at the time and then with it on, etc. I also have a pic of where I was standing to show all angles and that the face blocked reflections of the futon couch.
[Editor’s note: Comparison photo of TV off.]
[Editor’s note: Comparison photo of TV on.]
There was no way of redoing that pic with the image – I tried to debunk it with my follow up photos – which clearly show our belonging having been moved into the upper loft, TV on and off and a shot of the space I stood in – in front of the window. It freaked us out.
I only noticed it was there about 20 minutes later when I zoomed into the photo to make sure my daughter had not stuck her tongue or “finger” out at me so I could forward to my friend in Colorado.
I haven’t been back since that trip – but am returning this weekend Oct 9-11, 2015 for Halloweekend. Wish me luck!!!
Horror Society’s Most Anticipated Title of 2015
Gore Orphanage Announces World Premiere
“Some things are worse than losing your family”
April 25, 2015-Sandusky, OH– The world premiere for Horror Society’s most anticipated film of 2015 will be held at Sandusky State Theater in Sandusky, Ohio, just 20 minutes from the location of the most popular urban legend in the state of Ohio, on July 11th with events on the 10th and 11th.
The film stars Maria Olsen (Percy Jackson/Paranormal Activity 3/Starry Eyes), Internet Tycoon Bill Townsend, Keri Maletto (Home Shopping Network) and introduces a trio of amazing child actors Emma Leigh Smith, Nora Hoyle and Brandon Mangin Jr. It also stars five Cleveland natives Rick Montgomery Jr, Jeremy Kaluza, Brooke Bellaurdo, Chris Bores and Cari Lynn Pisano.
The premiere will be attended by Maria Olsen, Emma Leigh Smith, Sandusky’s own Miss America Jackie Mayer (whose son Bill Townsend stars in the film) and the film’s stunt coordinator “The Franchise” Shane Douglas. Also in attendance will be the Director Emily Lapisardi and her husband Executive Producer Cody Knotts.
The film is a female-centered horror story directed by Emily Lapisardi in her directorial debut. Filmed in 2014 in Scottdale, PA, the story is set in the 1930’s and follows the life of Nellie, an orphan, who is brought to Gore Orphanage and discovers quickly that some things are worse than losing your family.
This is the fifth film produced by veteran independent producer Cody Knotts (Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies) and was filmed in Scottdale, PA with a cast of over 20 local children in addition to the actors listed above. Knotts has worked with such horror icons as Doug Bradley and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper in the past.
The film was a husband and wife collaboration of Mr. Knotts and Ms. Lapisardi. Mr. Knotts wrote the film to impress his then fiancée, who was inspired by a road sign in Ohio during travel for Knotts’ film Pro Wrestlers vs. Zombies.

5/15/2015: So what is Edwin Shaw Hospital like at night? Tina is here to show you.
I have never went out and did something like this before. This place was pretty creepy. This was just a couple of the pictures I took.
Feel free to post. I’m going back to see what I can get in the Sunshine Village and cemetery area tonight. Will share if I get something good!
When you go to Cedar Point this summer, be sure to check out its newest ghostly attraction. If you are confused about which Cedar Point ghost we are talking about, Rich shares photos to help you identify the right one:
My wife took these photos at our stay at the Breakers Inn at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. In the first photo, a young boy is seen in the right side of the picture. You can also see my wife’s reflection in the left. There was no little boy anywhere near her when she took this picture.
She then took another photo a few minutes later after she looked at the photo and saw what she captured.

My wife and I did a spur of the moment trip down to Moonville on October 16th, 2003. It was my 4th trip to the tunnel. We arrived around 5:45pm. I first had to walk back through the rock cut site of the Dec. 26 1939 wreck. Whenever I come to this wreck site, the temperature seems to drop at least 15 degrees. Continue reading
Orig. Published 2/24/03: Here’s a particularly chilling submission by Russell, who has also offered two pictures he took of Riverside Cemetery’s chapel this past summer (see below).
I lived around Riverside Cemetery when I was a kid and used to play there before they built I-71. My brother and I have always witnessed strange sounds/sights there when we were younger. We have since moved away to Lorain county, but both my parents and my two brothers are buried there and I visit a few times a year. Continue reading
Orig. Published 6/13/02: Some creepy stories submitted by Red & Joe:
There is a mausoleum at the corner of the cemetery by the road [nearest the tennis courts]. It sticks out, so you cannot miss it. As a kid, I was told by many people that the mausoleum was haunted. Continue reading

The house on Potter Road is not very inviting. Once the home of the Minton Family of Bowling Green, this run down abandoned house is the alleged site of a murder-suicide.
